Picked up the boat today with it's new varnish and painted waterline.

My oldest is off to University in September... I'm kickin' her a** out the door! :)
(I think she's taking my wallet with her though :( )
At 1972, my wooden boat is "old". It's considered a "Classic" (1943 - 1975) as opposed to an "Historic" (up to 1918) or "Antique" (1919 - 1942) boat.
However, it's not as old as my "plastic" Donzi (1965) and it is a stern drive design as modern/current boats are. IMHO this is the best of...
I seriously doubt Mercury's new 'in-house" inboard engine/drive will reduce costs.
With specialty engines and specialty tools not to mention an overall reduction in R&D outside the company (i.e.> hot rodders) very few crossover parts all adding to a smaller pool controlled by a smaller group...
I just might have convinced a "local" boat builder to make a few of these hulls on spec...
Because of their ease of assembly and low cost of materials an experienced boat builder could knock off several of these hulls in a short time.
The idea is to use CNC cut frames (for accuracy and speed...

Canada is equally beautiful but, with less choice of climate. I'd love to move to a Canadian province that does not have winter! But, there are many other reasons I'm glad...
One thing I envy about my US friends is your ability to move around to a place that suits you. Most of the Americans I meet in business seem to be living in a different state from where they grew up. In Canada this is the opposite with the exceptions of British Columbia and Alberta.
As an...
I used to work for Bridgestone BANDAG, commercial division.... spent a few nights in Muscatine (N/A Bandag HQ). Home to the Mississippi rivers best button producing town.

Here's some chapters of the ACBS. Usually each chapter does a boat...
I also found the original Donzi Ski Sporter 16' (sweet sixteen) plans in the Mystic Seaport museum.... apparently they have the original "WinMill II" plans there too. More digging required.
Also... found a leak in the Greavette today between the transom plate and the power steering hose connection. Tighten the clamp, no biggie. Hoping that is why I had some water in the bilge last year (and it's hopefully fixed now).
The BAD news today was the neutral lock out switch for...
