    Boating season has begun

I can actually lay beside my engine or on the deck on top. With a stool I stand at the transom or I can kneel on the back seat. Very comfortable to reach and work on almost anything. I like the cost & availability of parts that are not specifically made to fit in a tightly packed puzzle...

    Boating season has begun

The alignment tool is a MUST! I pulled an Alpha One (1st gen) gimble assembly apart on the weekend. You need a special tool for that too.

    Collinite boat polish

For automotive use I have been very happy with Maguire's products. I used them exclusively on my classic 72 911 and was extremely satisfied. However, marine use is a different issue altogether. I will be testing waxing products for when my Donzi project needs it.

    Boating season has begun

Yes, what goes around, comes around! I have pushed a few ropes over the years and so, I will not hesitate to help another if I can. Glad to hear it all worked out. Did you give the guy with the battery a slice of PIZZA?

I should also mention that my 2004 GMC Canyon crew cab SLE 4x4 (with the inline 5 cyl.) still pulls this boat like a champ despite it's 287,000 kms (180,000 miles). Every day I drive this little truck I love it more and more.

    Boating season has begun

Hard to believe the boat has been ready for a month and she has not been wet this season. So, despite being rained out on our 1000 Island trip a couple of weeks ago, we finally got out on the water yesterday. Out of the chute things went great. My Greavette was nice and dry in her covered...

VIDEO: Key Biscayne plans PR blitz against Miami show

Clearly, the residents of Key Biscayne have too much disposable income.... and pay too much in taxes.

    Collinite boat polish

I have never used it as you don't wax on wood boats :) However, let us know how it does over time because my DONZI will need some lovin' when she's done.

    Boating season has begun

Well, it's been a busy few weeks. The seams around the Greavette's transom have been re-sealed with 3M 5200 (previously sealed with sikaflex), I did the same resealing along the keel for good measure. Last Saturday, the motor went back in , was summarized and run-in on the muffs. From the...

    IMP X246

Hard to say..... Right now we trailer everywhere. We also plan on trailering to points as far away as Florida and maybe Tahoe over the next few years... but, I can trailer my woodyboat too. We are also looking at retiring to a home on the lake. A nice plastic boat I could leave in the...

    Boating season has begun

Well, at least we are out of the deep freeze. And that means it's time to get working on my woody boat. Since restoration, I have noticed water in the bilge. This bothers me. The first season it was because we had an overheating problem and the tech ran the exhaust with the exhaust plug out to...

    IMP X246

Okay, has anyone ever heard of IMP marine? IMP - Iola Molded Plastics out of Iola, KS. They originally made the "Red Fish" brand of fiberglass boats under contract starting in 1959. When Red Fish boats went under (no pun intended) they made their own brand IMP and by 1971, IMP Boats was a...

    351W Rebuild

I think those are the "old" style manifolds. I don't know if there are any new fitments. I looked up Edelbrock and only could find gaskets.... no alloy manifolds. I would think they are out there but, sometimes you need patience. Are there any boat bone yards near you?
