    Geeeeeeeez, it must be fall

Not really much I can do over the winter months.... except plan. The Greavette is tucked away where I can't really get at it and now the Donzi is gone. I will continue to refurbish and modify the parts that I have been acquiring (gimble assembly, drive, etc...) and I may find a block to start...

    Geeeeeeeez, it must be fall

Well, I can't believe I did it but, I DID IT! I sold my Donzi :( A very nice "kid" (mid-late 20's) that works at a semi-local marina (Keswick) bought it. He seems very excited and wants to put her back to original with the exception of the Eaton drive... who could blame him....and the boat...

    Geeeeeeeez, it must be fall

Now for the DONZI.... I purchased this 1965 Donzi Ski Sporter 16 as a project (I really wanted a Formula Jr. but you just can't find them). But, since it was almost the boat I wanted and was priced right /available I jumped at it. For 2 years I have done research and made plans, collected parts...

    Geeeeeeeez, it must be fall

Well, since nobody has anything to do for the coming winter, I'll update ya....... On the last run of the year with my woody, I noticed some protective material peeling away from my hull right at the keel and the splash line. The protective material was just put there because she lives on a...

    A change of set up

When we re-launched our restored Greavette in 2012, there were some teething problems that had to be solved. The largest was an overheating issue in the I6 250cid 165HP Mercruiser. After a summer of attempts and a bucket of $ (more than a couple thousand) the decision was made to repower. for...

    Boat's out!

After a great boating season (just 4 months long) we had our last run on Sunday. With a friend in his 21' Greavette and me with our 18' Greavette we cruised the chain of lakes near Huntsville, Ontario ; Lake Vernon, Fairey Lake and Penninsula Lake. It was a warm day with sun and some puffy...

    Alignment

With only 70 hours, If you don't hear/feel a problem... I'd leave it alone.

    Alignment

How many hours on this boat?
  16. Sean

    Alignment

No, not major at all. You just remove the drive "leg" and insert the alignment tool where the drive shaft goes. It should move in and out easily (with some resistance). If it is a new install it can be a bit tedious moving the mounts exactly right... but otherwise it's not hard.

    Alignment

I would imagine a vibration or a noise out of the ordinary... When aligned the drive shaft fits but is free to be moved backwards and forwards (in and out). If it does not move or is difficult to move it is misaligned and could lead to bearing/seal failure as well as failure of the engine...

    Alignment

It's pretty easy... you just need the proper alignment tool. Have you noticed any symptoms? why do you need to check the alignment?
