    Weather has been...

...just too nice this fall. I haven't been on here (or any site) much as boatin' has been fantastic. My Greavette is running beautifully and we are having lots of fun! BTW: I hit 49mph @ 4400 rpm on Saturday ...boat makes max power at 5,100 so, I guess there's some prop foolin' to do.

    Is this a Humber Jewel

It sure looks like a Humber Jewel to me...early round nose version. They are making them again (son of the original company owner) http://www.humberboats.ca/humber-jewel/ The guy is keen so, I'm sure he can help you identify your boat.

Did you get a registration from the marina? There are no "ownership" papers in Ontario but, the registration information should bear the HIN.

    Ethanol

Fuel stabilizer is the way to go whether you are runnin' her dry or not. There's always some fuel in there even after you run 'er out. In Canada there is no ethanol in marine fuel. I hate paying for fuel on the lake and so, I fill up on the trailer as much as possible. Ethanol=bad but, it's not...

    1969 Checkmate V-141 Restoration

Another 20HP should get you 4 or 5 mph on the top end and also might get some more of that hull out of the water. Lovin' the tower of power drink mixers!

ABYC and Coast Guard join on propeller guard test

I dunno.... Maybe we should have people take responsibility for their own actions. Everybody should know that propellers are dangerous to be around.

Y'know, this Chappy is not a bad lookin' hull. with some imagination (and expirimentation) you could build a pretty cool hot rod... I guess you'll have some time to think about that now while you pimp out the pontoon...

    1977 playcraft p24 pontoon

Sounds like a plan... And you can still plan the chaparral (or it's replacement) in the mean time. besides, the parents will probably pay for the pontoon resto and you can save your $$$. :)

Benetti debuts new models at Cannes show

I don't know where the market for these yachts comes from... with fuel prices and all, even the guys that buy them must keep them for a while... People buying boats now are older... and getting older. Something needs to be done to make boating more attractive (and affordable) to young people...
