The other thing you might want to look at is the how many blades you run. If you do a lot of tubing and skiing, usually four or five is better than three in terms of hole shot. Three will usually give you better top end speed though. :) -Chris

Greetings from a New Member, Lake Muskoka Question

Hi boatnuts - nice to have you with us. I was down at Gravenhurst last year and people were using the ramp. I haven't been there this year though. I know Pride of Muskoka in the Bracebridge area has a decent set up. Not sure what they charge though. I know Chris E one of our members...

Hi tweeter - welcome aboard. :) Basically, what you'll want to do, is find the max RPM range for your motor. You'll then want to prop your boat so that it runs in the max rpm range, when you're at wide open throttle (WOT). Putting on a prop with a higher pitch, will lower your RPM's at WOT...

Call goes out: mandate boat licensing. Should they do it or not, If you really think

Well, up here in Ontario, what we used to have was laws and regulations. I don't completely remember what they were, but it went from pretty much nothing in the way of horsepower/age restrictions to something along the lines of ..... less than 12 years old - 10 HP or less 12-16 years old -...

Call goes out: mandate boat licensing. Should they do it or not, If you really think

Almost all the articles in favour of boat licensing, always seem to bring up some example of someone driving a personal watercraft like an idiot. Or, they mention some high-powered boat being driven wrecklessly. So, I gather these licenses are going to train someone to not be an idiot ? I...

    Adding a kicker

Hi Doovy, For the shaft, what you need might vary and depend on where you decide to mount the bracket. And if you want to use the bar for steering, then you might want to figure out where you need to mount the motor and then obviously the bracket so that the steering bar will work. And that's...

    ANODE REMOVAL

These days, a lot of people are now going with power steering, or zero feedback steering setups, which basically eliminates the need for a trim tab type anode. :) -Chris

    ANODE REMOVAL

That seems really close - probably too close. I believe there are some Merc anodes with a different profile that should give you more clearance then a standard one. I think Merc's racing division has 'em. :) -Chris
