Thanks for the tip. :thumb: Many people don't know, that you can also get waterproofing spray that will bring back the water repellency on many of the sumbrella type materials as well. Where there is a will, many times there is a way. :) -Chris

Kevin, Did you check and see if there is a HIN number stamped into the back of the transom? It should be on the right hand side somewhere around between the middle of the transom and the top. Let us know how you ultimately make out. :) -Chris

Hi Bassman, I'm located in Canada too. :) Any official Evinrude (BRP) dealer, can most likely look up the part you need and get the status on it. I would take your serial and model number information with you, as they will most likely need that to look up the parts. -Chris

I saw something like this once before and if I remember correctly, I think what it ended up being was there was a small bit of metal behind the seat foam that kept tearing the seat. -Chris

Power or no feedback steering sometimes helps that issue. Otherwise, you can play around with the small trim tab on the motor or outdrive to help a bit. -Chris

Sorry to hear that. :( Can you tell what is causing the tears? Is there no foam behind that part of the vinyl? Or is there something sharp within the seat itself that is tearing the vinyl cover? -Chris

Many of the classic boat guys in Muskoka have those. I think you can get some colours too if I'm not mistaken. I remember everyone had those when I was a kid, before the air filled vinyl ones were all the rage. It's the old story of..."everything that is old is new again". :D -Chris
