not yet. 3 weeks behind last year's first shakedown run. :(

PRETTY sure Ill at least dip its bottom(transom) in the local NO WAKE ONLY lake, to test that transducer..

HOPE NEXT weekend kicks off the season! <crosses fingers> Wife and kids are chomping at the bit to get out there!

Her the ice is just receding in Muskoka.
BUT, I went to my marine Tech and booked my summarization check-up!

Had to go to the storage unit and raise the drive so the boat could be moved.... the bike & car guys want out on the road even though there's sand and gravel everywhere.

Boat's comin' out in a week or so.

ITS ALMOST HERE! :) note: Ive been saying that for over a month now.

A Ive stated before, Ive been into boating before.... But now, I can honestly say, as a family, the SECOND winter as a boat owning family is definitely harder than the first. Sure there was excitement the first time around...but now, we KNOW how much fun and relaxation we have, and the anticipation nearly killed us. :)

See you on the water!

Well,
I had better get it out soon. Just entered the Greavette in the ACBS Toronto antique Boat show in Gravenhurst, Ontario. (July 5th).

Have some varnish touch ups and a few wee mods to do before then... plus I'd like to get some miles under that keel!

Okay went to get my boat out of the "secure" storage garage....

First thing I find, My bow eye was broken off??? So I get the parts and fix it.
Next I notice someone "borrowed" my trailer license plate!!! c'mon really?
Then I see scratches all over the stern drive (it was in the down position) as people stepped on it with winter boots to get through the storage area.
Then I find the key is not in the ignition where I left it but, on the floor by the seat and all the fenders are pushed up front too (they were in the back seats).

Who knows what I'll find next... At least it's home now!
Sheeesh. Secure my a**!

sometimes people just have no respect, Sean. sorry to hear about the trouble, hopefully simple stuff.

as for us, we were able to get out for a couple hours Saturday. FINALLY It feels good to get it outta the way, but it was not without incident...

-some dummy.... (not naming names) ***cough*** ME .....didnt tighten the gas cap. its gone. not a cheap one either. lid from a drink fit right in for the day....

-one of my front amplified speakers quit working. It sounded great until then. Not crazy loud or anything, but nice sound while cruising. hope for just a wiring mistake.

-Bought my wife a 2012 pathfinder 2 weeks ago. chose because 2012 was the last of the body on frame SUV(besides giant one) wanted it for towing. Love the truck. I backed the boat in, she pulled out the trailer. I had it in 4wd due to tons of sand on the ramp. (and dead fish due to the fishkill from ice lol) for some reason she thought it necessary to shut off 4wd... and managed to actually push too hard and POP the 4wd selector knob back into the dash. So it was stuck IN 4wd. That was a fun ordeal getting that figured out.

hope for more water time soon, but its cold again. :yikes: and like I said, it felt good to get it out. Especially with all the stuff I worked on. first time Ive had boat stuff apart, so I was quite nervous. Mostly about the lower unit.

Bow eye fixed, new plate is on the trailer, new "boating buddies" installed.
She heads down to the shop next week for summerizing then up north the week after for some varnish work. I should have her wet 2nd week in June.

Still not wet but,...

I put two new lifting eyes in the transom.
Moved the boating buddies (to better match the lifting eyes position)
Installed the manufacturers plate in the engine bay.
re adjusted the bunks on the trailer
moved the winch tree on the trailer
Installed a new fuel pressure gauge (on the carb supply line)
And...have a plate on the trailer once again!

nice glastron Peels!! I guess I some how missed that you have a glastron. my favorite two boats are checkmates and glastrons. not that being from the birth place of glastron has nothing to do with it ;)

I remember when I was a kid the old Glastron logo it said "A CONROY Company" in small print underneath... That's my last name! Been a fan ever since (James Bond didn't hurt either)

Also... found a leak in the Greavette today between the transom plate and the power steering hose connection. Tighten the clamp, no biggie. Hoping that is why I had some water in the bilge last year (and it's hopefully fixed now).

The BAD news today was the neutral lock out switch for starting is not working so, you can actually start the boat in gear! That'll be fixed before the weekend...I hope.
