Has the economy taken the wind out of your sails?

I've been boating my whole life and love it, I can't imagine not having a boat, after paying my mortgage and making sure my kids have everything they need just about all of my exposable income is spent on boating or stuff for the boat. I finally bought myself a decent vehicle but ever since I...

    Sweetwater pontoon pics

Yes they are fun, but I prefer the Checkmate though:devil: LOL we usually have 6-8 adults and 4 kids on board, there's room for a few more but it can start to get crowded after 10 adults.

The 90 will push it at 28mph with just me and 23-25mph with a full load It has really good low end torque for a 90 and we have used it for tubing and skiing a little, we usually load everyone on the pontoon and then take the in-laws Invader with the 115 tower of power out aswell to use for...

Cant find anyone with a AMF Crestliner Crusader

Is there any good custom tarp manufacturers around you? There is a place here in Saskatoon that has been around for 40+ years and they keep the plans for every tarp they have ever made, I bought a custom tarp from them a few years ago for a 1978 boat and I didn't even have to take the boat to...

wow, your lake sure looks nice:thumb: I checked out your other pics aswell, looks like you had a little bit to much water there at one time;) I wish we had trees like that:) I don't miss the job of putting in and taking out the dock and boat lift at grandma's place, it is on the lake and my...

mine is also just a little old cabin, it is insulated and we haul water or melt snow in the winter, nothing fancy, thats forsure but it does the trick. wood stove for heat, it's getting to be a pain in the butt not having running water in the winter now that we have kids but we make do. Here's...

    engine controls?

no problem, don't worry about bothering anyone, without squeezing the button on the handle you won't be able to move the lever out of neutral to either use the fast idle or put it in gear. Imagine your helping your 10 year old put on water ski's and the boat is idling in neutral, while your...

    engine controls?

Yep, pull it back into reverse and for throttle just keep going back

    engine controls?

:welcome:The button that you squeeze is just so it will release from neutral, same idea as most auto trans shifters in cars. the button on the bottom of the lever will allow you to operate your throttle with it in neutral. To start push the button in and push the lever forward, it will move...

So you don't use the cottage in the winter  We use are's almost as much in the winter as the summer, we even try to spend christmas out there when we can, it helps that the whole family loves spending time out there. a little history- my grandparents built there in 1955 when my Dad...

Yeah it will be around may 15th before the ice goes out at my cottage, gotta love are Canadian winters, we didn't have much snow this year for insulation and the ice is over 4 ft thick, I can remember the lake still being frozen on may long weekend 4 or 5 years, last year it went sometime over...

A challenge for Chris or anyone else with a tin boat.

Chris, since we were talking about playing with trim on our aluminum boats the other day I came up with a funny idea;) lets see who can throw the best rooster tail with a tin boat, to be honest I don't even know if it's possible, it's been a while since I played with it, I would like to use it...

Yeah your probably right about the chains and wires around the prop, if you do make a solid one piece let us know, I'll take one, you should ask this same ? on Chris's other forum also, the checkmate forum. as far as I know your supporting membership is also good over there, I'm sure you'd get...

    Trailer hitch accessory

I know you can buy a plastic Evinrude one for $40-50, obviously you can't stand on it because it's plastic, I like the idea of it being a step, this might be a off the wall idea but what if the cowling was removable with a trailer ball underneath? I'd buy it.
