I like the posting levels.
As for names, we need a bunch to go with them.
I think we need to come up with some kind of theme and then work from there.
Navy levels is one idea, but other boating forums have done that.
Perhaps we can come up with something original. :)

Well thanks for posting them. :)
Unfortunately, I didn't get to the Gravenhurst Antique Boat show this year.
They have lots of really nice old wooden boats.
Hopefully next year we'll be free and I can take a bunch more pics. :)

billy,
Your boat turned out incredible. I wish I had the time, patience and talent to do what you did.
I actually had a Glen L boat when I was a kid. :thumb:
We had the Pee Wee model. I ordered the plans and then we had a local carpenter at my cottage build it for us. It turned out...
A number of manufacturers are starting to eliminate the splash well lips on transoms and instead of just going with flat splash wells with no lips.
In general, to me at least, splash well lips are a pain for a number of reasons as you have no doubt figured out.
I think the one main good...
Wowzers!
It sounds like you got it fixed up pretty good based on the compression test. :thumb:
For the coil testing, you'll probably need a good shop manual.
It'll tell you how to test the coils etc. with a multi-meter tester, Without the shop manual though, it's pretty hard to diagnose...
Thanks for sharing. :)
What motor do you run on it?
You can also glass in some transom knees too, if you want to beef it up.
Looks great so far. :thumb:

The XS models were Hi-Po versions.
They were really cool.
Merc made the red graphic motors for about three years in the late 60's, but they kept making red XS graphic motors for a number of years after that.
You can tell the XS motors as they will say XS on the graphics on the...
A rather interesting development!
Hustler Powerboats is reportedly in negotiations to purchase the assets of Fountain Powerboats and in turn Baja as well. :thumb:
The following message was posted on Hustler's home website, as well as on their Facebook page.

Hi savdxgrace - welcome to our forums.
This wouldn't by chance by a Merc XS motor would it?
I have a few pics of the mid 70's versions which had a red stripe on them. :)

I would use your current prop as a baseline and work from there.
The best way to buy a new prop, is to see if you can find a dealer that will work with you and let you try a few props out before you buy. :thumb:
