    Fuel Prices Won't Stop Boaters

The truth is that a lot of our oil (in Canada) has remained uptapped, because when the price of a barrel of oil was 15-20 bucks, it cost too much to extract and refine a barrel, to make it attractive. But with oil running at 100+ dollars a barrel, it's more cost effective and more cost...

    Fuel Prices Won't Stop Boaters

I think it has more to do with OPEC arbitrarily setting low production figures, that in turn drives up the price of a barrel of oil. I don't think Bush has the ability to control the price of a barrel of oil somehow. He's one voice among a group of many. Could he fight harder to increase...

    Fuel Prices Won't Stop Boaters

I'll most likely use the Check when the gals want to go skiing. But to just go blasting around the lake when a tank-full will be over 100 bucks...I don't know if I would enjoy it. So far this year I've run all over the place in the 14' Aluminum with the 25 and I've burned a little less than...

The effect it has had one me, is that I use our smaller boats more as they use less gas.

    Sake's Revenger!

One of our long time members (on the Check forums) Sake, who hails from Holland, sent me a pic of his latest boat. Sake tells me his rig is a Revenger and he has twin Merc Verados mounted on it! Very cool! :thumb:

    Chris' 2008 Cottage Shots!

Chris, What I've found this year, is there aren't very many dragon flys, almost none actually. And usually they come out around the same time as the bugs and they clear a lot of them up.

    Baja Sold to Fountain Powerboats!

Our neighbour goes by the name of Bud. But I think that might be a nickname. The Ackerman's have been cottaging on our lake since the late 60's. My Grandparents actually started cottaging on the lake in the very early 50's.

    Chris' 2008 Cottage Shots!

Well we haven't taken pics this weekend as the bugs are INSANE! Not to mention it's been raining most of the weekend as well. Man, the bugs are bad. To cut the grass I had to put on my "bug suit". Same deal with cooking dinner on the BBQ, bug suit time. :yell:

    Baja Sold to Fountain Powerboats!

Well my neighbours are more or less a family, so some are married and have different last names. Some have moved away to different towns as well. But the senior member of the family and the member who purchased the cottage has a last name of Ackerman. :)
