    Rub Rail

I have available 4 twelve foot sticks of brand new 3/4" aluminum rub rail (J shape) that I did not use on my Donzi 18 Classic. This same rub rail is used on many other boats...just asking what I paid $200. If you are sprucing up your ride this fall/winter ths is great jewelry for your boat...

    A major setback

Thanks Nathan, I'm commited here (or maybe should be commited) as over the past 4 years I have redone almost everything. The hull is new, many stringers, frames, transom, the interior, wiring, switches, battery, gauges....all new. hardware rechromed, new rub rail etc. Now, I didn't neglect the...

    Pre Alpha mercruiser

Well, The current power is pi**ing me off chasing the overheating gremlins. While I'd like to stay somewhat original...I'm thinking a 4.3/alpha or maybe a 5.7/alpha combination might make me happier! Anyone have a line on cheap power on Ontario? It certainly will not reduce the value of...

    Anybody near Baton Rouge?

With the continuing issues (with the Greavette) I have decided to postpone the new project and give undivided attention to making the current boat right.

    A major setback

Okay, round 2.... With the outdrive rebuilt and a new thermostst, the big test run was today. Beautiful sky, warm temps, bright sun and a calm lake Muskoka who could ask for more....right? Ran for about 10-15 minutes and the gauge was at 200 again! Pulled her down to dead slow and idled most...

    Sadly another loss

When I dropped my Greavette at the techs shop this past week I learned that yet another Greavette Sunflash IV had just been broken up. She had already changed her original 250cid IL6 powerplant for a 4.3 V6/alpha combo...this proved her downfall as the new owner had bought her just for the...

    SS Keewatin

There's no question that the Keewatin has re-vitalized Port McNichol. It's a great tourist area (and near Toronto) so when you get a chance c'mon up and see her in person!

    Anybody near Baton Rouge?

Think this might be THE project boat I have been looking for but might need some boots on the ground to check 'er out. http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/boa/3157989684.html All help is appreciated. Sean

    A major setback

Okay so the Mercruiser 165 IL6 lives.... At least for now. Doesn't look like she was cooked too bad, risers and manifold seem good too. so far. Meaning that we are repairing instead of replacing at this point. Looks like the metal sleeve in the impeller housing spun around and the off center...

    A major setback

Well after 3 "sea trial" tests and leaving the boat with a well known shop for a week we set off Saturday morning for a once in a lifetime event with the ACBS. The event had 115 registered woodies and 2 steamships that were to cover the historic 100 mile cruise on the big three Muskoka lakes...

    A great week

Test #3 today...Driveability and endurance. New prop (19p replacing 23p) to get rpm up to manufacturers spec of 4300, adjusted idle up to 600 rpm and clean/adjust carb jets to eliminate hesitation. fixed fuel gauge. Plan on 2-3 hours run if the weather holds out.

    A great week

On Monday I went to Stoney lake (in the Kawartha's) for the first "sea trial" of my refurbished Greavette. This was special as the boats original owner was on this lake and my boat was delivered there new spending the better part of a decade on those waters. With a couple of teething issues to...

    Wanted: Project Boat

I would like to find a late 80's Donzi Z21 or Z25 project boat. Closer to Ontario, Canada is better. (USA boats will still be considered) This project is a bit of an experiment so I am keeping the costs low and don't need to consider servicable boats (unless they are really cheap). As long...

    Closed cooling system

Nathan I think he is referring to an enclosed cooling system as opposed to a raw water cooling system. http://boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/cooling.htm The big advantage here is if he runs in saltwater. The enclosed system is just a heat exchanger and some more plumbing. It's hard to say...
