see...all I needed to do was search :) Its just that boat info, you have to search for.... cars, the media (and commercials) ram it down your throat. LOL
cool little article. not sure anything will come of it. good read.
the vw diesel is my benchmark for economy purposes. ANd OULD LOVE to see...
LOL at "eggbeaters". thats good stuff. I havent heard that before, Now I don't want one, because thats what ill see every time I look at it.
I do like the jets, for the sole reason we are ONLY in skinny water, and many times I spent more time stressing out about my outdrive striking a sunken...
this is cool!
A "carte blanche" pontoon project would be fun. (not so says the wallet)
I would love it.
good luck.
also love the wood Bennington pontoon previously posted. neat...
but if I had get a pontoon, it would be this...
I agree.
a smidge off topic:
I feel like the boating industry needs a shakeup. Which seems like it is KIND OF happening. With the advent of GOOD jet drives...and super high tech outboards. which I'm a big fan of both. next boat will have one of those.
There were 20 years I was out of...
I have some "boating" to do as well.
fix that cavitation plate...add a sound system(i hope), and add some of those underwater led's for the stern. those are COOL. kids love them. And a carb rebuild....
PLUS: More hull polishing. I feel like i might develop an OCD for this. I get a sad feeling...
happy holidays to you as well.
I FULLY agree with your sentiments here.
38 yrs old here.. and it is a VERY black day indeed. This year I waited about 3 weeks longer than last year.... got it done a week before we saw 20's.
Right now, we are Waiting for the "winter is here, no more...
Ive read that numerous times...folks thinking it will breed more liberal hate...but honestly....
i wish it were true. id LOVE it if I were mandated to buy another boat LOLOLOLOL
if its just the bezel the gauges sit in, yep, you'll have to make it.
you can make that out of a material called "king starboard"
if its the WHOLE dash...wont be that easy. unless you get lucky and find somebody parting out your exact model.
yep.
just have to search carefully. We will be looking at a storage issue if we go too big. Insulated (unheated) garage is just shy of 24' long.
Plan now is to use our little Bowrider through next year...if we still feel the same, next fall will be bigger boat time! AND, if that boat...
haha Ive been through this with ATV's...I learned. I had 5 of them at one time and was searching for more... one for every type of riding. and for everyone...
so with boats, I'm trying really really hard to fight this "sickness" because I should know better.
I really want to keep a small fast...
haha also this first night boating experience (you can see my led's):

HAHA thanks Sean...im not too angry....its humor to pass the time :)
Wife is actually the one driving the "get bigger boat" bus. LOL she is adamant about yamaha jet boats. I am big yamaha guy already having worked on those engines for years. Also we boat in some questionable spots, that...
she's all winterized...
i did not pull off the lower unit yet, though. Checked...the oil in there is still brand new. I will do all that when I pull it off to do the impeller and fix the cavitation plate.
drained/cleaned the inside of the hull, and treated all the vinyl too. it is ready.
now...
did mine yesterday :( Was the nicest/warmest day in about a month..
I feel your pain. But...our brown water isnt as bad as you'd think... lol come on down.
yep makes sense, but was thinking the impeller is what holds the water back....
I suppose as long as its in the block so no cracking, were ok...
hell maybe I should just put a heater in it... that scares me though, a WARM engine compartment is a nice mouse motel lol
sorry! 3 liter merc. I/O
Using the intake port to suck up the antifreeze for winterizing... my concern was if I pull off the lower unit AFTER that, i would lose some antifreeze thus lose some protection.
