    Should old gas be dumped?

I need your opinions about this. The boat I bought the first part of March of this year still has a half tank of the old gas that the previous owner did not run all the way out. It has sat in there for a whole year. The guy I bought the boat from said it should be dumped and replaced with fresh...

Reproduction decals for 1970 9.5 HP Johnson

If I am going to keep this motor,I would like to know where I can get any reproduction decals for my 1970 9.5 HP Johnson outboard. You guys have any ideas as to where I can get them to place on the motor cowling?

"Wanted" 1973 to 1990 25 HP Johnson short shaft motor w/ manual rope start.

I am taking a very serious look at the Dodge Dakota,...larger than a Ford Ranger and Chevy S-10,but slightly smaller than a full size truck. As for that motor upgrade,a 15 HP motor should be adequate for a mix of small and large bodies of water on a boat like mine, but that 25 HP motor still...

"Wanted" 1973 to 1990 25 HP Johnson short shaft motor w/ manual rope start.

I am not in a great big hurry for a motor upgrade,...I have other priorities to look into first, such as looking for a new tow vehicle,...my car's getting lots of miles on'er,but she may have to pull the boat for a while as long as she keeps running. I am thinking about just your basic Dodge or...

"Wanted" 1973 to 1990 25 HP Johnson short shaft motor w/ manual rope start.

For a very near future motor upgrade on my 1973 Sea Nymph 14R 'Big Water' v-bottom boat,I am looking for a 25 HP manual rope start short shaft Johnson motor made between 1973 to 1990. I currently have a 1970 Johnson 9.5 HP motor which I think may be too small and under powered for a boat rated...

    SeaNymph14R's boat

The upgrade has yet to take place,...but it will happen before you know it! I like Johnsons,... so I'll stick with them and keep my eyes open for a 25 HP motor made between 1973 to 1979,maybe newer than that if the price is right!:thumb:

    SeaNymph14R's boat

Update on this response; Make that a 1973 to 1979 25 HP Evinrude or Johnson motor,...forget the 18 horse,...I have decided to go all the way with a 25 horse motor since my rig is rated for 25 HP!

Let's get this Sea Nymph board going!

Hi fellow Sea Nymph boat owners,...I know we have got to have some out there. Though I am still new to the site,I suggested such a board be started because I did not see one on here when I joined the site. So,...what do you say we get this board going?:thumb::thumb:. I now own a '73 Sea Nymph...

    SeaNymph14R's boat

Just came off the www.iboats.com site after doing a little further research on my boat,...it is a 1973 Sea Nymph 14R Big Water. Still don't know why anyone would put a small 9.5 hp motor on a boat that is rated for a 25 hp motor! I still think an 18 hp Evinrude or Johnson motor would move that...

    SeaNymph14R's boat

Evinrude and Johnson had motors that appeared quite identical for many years,...at least on certain models such as mine and the pic of the motor in that '73 Evinrude brochure. As long as the motor is an OMC motor and runs, I don't care if it wears the Evinrude or Johnson logos. But I do have my...

    SeaNymph14R's boat

Actually,Chris,...that's a 1970 Johnson 9.5 HP motor. Ya know,...that boat is rated for a 25 HP motor, but I think if I wanted to upgrade for a little more power,a 15 horse motor would do quite well. I have in mind a newer mid 1980's to early 1990's 15 HP Johnson short shaft motor should I decide...

For those of us who own Sea Nymphs

Being a newbie to the site,I did not see a Sea Nymph board under the Brand related discussion boards,Chris. How about one? I think we Sea Nymph owners need a board of our own, too.

    Going for a ride!

Six gallons in twenty minutes? Oh my gosh! That's why I stick with small boats with motors no bigger than 25 ponies!
