non in my price range. I was looking at a 78 glastron clarson cvx 20 but the person sold it. so I think I am still going with a cruiser. I am going to look at one tomorrow.
well tomorrow we are taking the boat out to see how she does. but that will be one of her last rides. I have sold the boat to my parents. the interesting part is that my dad told me they wanted it today and would pay my asking price with a down payment and monthly payments. I would prefer...
ok I went and look and even though it is in decent shape I think I have decided to pass. it needs more work than my pocket book can handle. plus with it being 10' 6" wide I would have to have a permit to trailer it. and since I trailer every time that would get expensive. plus that my wife...
the worst part of looking at some older boats is the fact that there is not a lot of info out there if it is not a big manufacturer or one with a huge following.
Thanks Sean for the link. I believe by the pictures and talking with the owner it is fiberglass. we will see tomorrow. the guy is getting rid of it because he lost his storage place and it is to large to keep at his house. it is supposed to be fully loaded like a camper in a boat. I will...
ok guys I need help. I have possibility of a trade. A person has a 1970 owens Concorde 27 foot cabin cruiser with a fly bridge. does anyone know any thing about these boats? I am going to look at it tomorrow because it is a cabin cruiser that I would trade a pontoon for it is a no brainer...
ok I have not updated this in a few so here we go. after I got new fuel in the tank the boat was still not running the best. I then rebuilt the fuel pump and it was better so my daughters and I went to the lake. the boat would idle fine and go in reverse fine. but when I put it in forward it...
Make sure it has a good mount of chain at the anchor end. the weight of the chain is what makes the anchor stay down and bite. without it will just start pulling up and will not dig in. most anchor kits includes the chain.
Another interesting fact is that Doug (the owner of Baja) was the one that purchased checkmate and was never excepted by certain checkmate owners. and now due to the economy and his health he is looking for some help to keep his doors open. as a huge fan of checkmates I hope it goes thru and...
I believe that is part of it. they do not have a line of smaller boats. plus they come with a huge following. I am sure when the actual press release comes out they will say why they are doing it.
hopefully if I get the fuel issue fixed that will be my next step. I completely drained and cleaned the tank out to get rid of any sludge that was in it from the old gas. I am letting it dry out now and will put gas in later this week and give it a try in the driveway.
ok the transom is done. I wanted to use marine plywood but no one around here carries it. they all have cdx (treated) and one has ccx (Treated that is none corrosive to aluminum). I used some panels that I had because summer is here and I want to enjoy the boat and do not have the time or...
