    1977 playcraft p24 pontoon

I do live in the south.... of Canada. About the same latitude as the northern border of IOWA. (or Sioux falls, SD) both well south of the 49th parallel that defines most of the USA-Canada border. Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to locate much further south. There was some talk at one...

    NEW PROJECT!!!

Well, snow is here...and the boats aren't. So, I just found a deal on an ALPHA One upper case to modify. I'll try to take 3" out to shorten the X-dimension and see if we can make a little speed in this boat.

Chemicals will only get you so far.... wet sanding does work! It just takes elbow grease, patience and time. A combination of steps may expedite the process. Also consider some polishing compound and a high speed buffer.

need help with an old boat?

It's hard to put a number on a boat over the internet. that said, I would say the asking price is not out of line even though you need to rebuild an engine. If however, you need to do transom or stringer work you could be in for more than you bargained for as these costs add up quickly. If...

There are some options. Wire wheel only places you cannot see with the deck back on and maybe below the waterline. Once clean, you could mask off and paint below the water line. I would suggest wet sanding all other areas before using a wire wheel of any kind. After a wire wheel it is almost...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

I hear ya, I've been out since April 2011. Got so tired of cable we cancelled it (that and it was $200/mo). Finally, I decided to start my own little company.... even finished in the black this year! So, if you can't be good...be fast so nobody catches ya! Merry Christmas.

    NEW PROJECT!!!

Hi Jim, Thanks. I'm happy to have found it. The hull has been re gelled. A lot of the clean up has been done. However, I must be a wee bit more anal than most as I am going to redo the transom and stringers before I build the wooden deck and hotrod the drive system. WOW! Wellesley Island...
