Hi Jim, If you motor is that old, it would probably be a good idea to overhaul the water pump. The impellar itself is made of rubber typically, so it will tend to dry out and eventually it will start to crack and break up. You can buy a waterpump kit that comes with the impellar itself...

Sounds like a neat vintage set up. :thumb: You'll probably want to see if you can find a water pump replacement kit, that comes not only with the impellar itself, but also with some other parts as well. Given the age of your motor, that might be a bit tricky to find. A good service...
