faria tach problem

Our Glastron sx175 I/O has a bad Faria tachometer. I took it out to make sure it wasnt just a ground. It is just frozen.....so, I just put it back in and did not reconnect (looks better than a hole) LOL just while I search for a new one. BUt...I am getting the boat winterized next week.

will it start with all those wires out? I think there were 5 wires to it...

Doesnt seem like its an issue, but thought Id check before shop calls me and says it wont start

it should start without it. the wires going to it should be a ground, power, signal, light, and not sure what the fifth is. but it should start as the tach just gets a singal from the distrubtor.
