Do You Know Your Nautical Sayings?

Nautical sayings slip into my dialogue from time to time and I think I use them correctly, but I rarely stop to think where they came from. Can you think of any more? Nautical Sayings

"swingin' the lead"
"Hard over"

come to mind...

 

[Peels]

i say "crazy ivan" when I miss an exit and have to uturn. LOL

Im sure there's more...my dad was in the navy on aircraft carriers, and always said weird stuff...

"Tell it to the Marines"...an expression of disbelief.
