Hello all, I'm a builder working for Regal Marine. Specifically I'm an engine installation specialist which mean I rig out the sump and install the engine/outdrive package. I also get involved with much of the open hull assembly as well ass occasionally bouncing around and helpin out in final assembly and deckset.

I found this site and thought I'd pop in and see what is going on around the boating world, kinda see what the "buzz" is.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my knowledge, but please don't take anything I say as in any way being company policy or anything like that. It's just my opinion or what I believe to be right. I'm not a lifelong builder, I've only been doing this for about 5 years. Before that I was an Aircraft Mechanich in the Air force.

I look forward to learning from you guys. Maybe I can pick up on some things that will help us at Regal.

I'm not sure, it's never come up before. I'll ask and see.
I really don't know why I wouldn't, we ain't building stealth fighters after all.

Welcome aboard. Be careful what you post pictures of, or even talk about. Some companies, even if they don't have a written policy. Once they find out you are posting things on the web, will typically check on what you posted. If they have no policy, you still get asked, "why did you post that?" or told "you shouldn't have said that", or, you shouldn't have posted that picture.
Trust me, I've lived this for a couple of years myself. Every morning the OWNER of the company would check to see what I posted the night before. He would sometimes even ride his golf cart out to talk to me about. Generally things were good, because I ain't stupid. Sometimes there would be something going on, that I would have loved to post, but the owner was there telling me he better not read about this on the web tomorrow.
Just giving you a heads up. Be careful, and post lots of pics. Except for those secret ones, for those email them to me, and I'll post them.

Thanks for the heads up. I've kinda thought of that. I wouldn't air any dirty laundry in public even if there was some to air. I'm pretty fond of eating and living in a house and such.

Like any other group we occasionally have issues to work through, but we have some very talented folks working in our plant and we get through them pretty well. As I said, I've been doing this for about 5 years now and I'm still one of the "new" guys. We've got some builders that have been doing this for 20+ years, and a bunch that have been doing it for 10 or 15+.

I know I have a vested interest in making us look good, but the fact of the matter is I don't have to try that hard. We like to be proud of the work we do, so we care about what goes out the door.

Bottom line is if I see somebody with a Regal boat, especially one of the models I build, I want to feel confident walking up and introducing myself and asking how they like the boat.
