A great week

On Monday I went to Stoney lake (in the Kawartha's) for the first "sea trial" of my refurbished Greavette. This was special as the boats original owner was on this lake and my boat was delivered there new spending the better part of a decade on those waters.

With a couple of teething issues to solve, on Wednesday we travelled back to Muskoka where the Greavette was actually made. A couple of quick sorties up the Indian River then to Duke's Boats for some set up work.

The weather was beautiful both days and the boat looked great finally in the water after her 4 year restoration. In another 10 days or so we will join a flotilla of 108 wooden boats escorting the steamer Segwun and her mate Wenona II on a recreation of the 100 mile cruise on the big 3 Muskoka lakes.

That is so cool Nathan! What a journey. Love the vintage wooden boats. Congratulations. It must be very gratifying. The hard work and patience paid off.

Test #3 today...Driveability and endurance.

New prop (19p replacing 23p) to get rpm up to manufacturers spec of 4300, adjusted idle up to 600 rpm and clean/adjust carb jets to eliminate hesitation. fixed fuel gauge.

Plan on 2-3 hours run if the weather holds out.

Right you are Nathan. My apologies Sean. Congrats in getting it done. The Greavette must feel it has returned home. Any regrets from the former owner?

Nathan, you must be close too to finishing your project...?
