25 HP motors,...who's are best? Merc or OMC

Since I am considering upgrade of my motor within the next six months or
so,and though I am mostly an OMC guy,...I'd like your opinion of who's 25
HP motors you like best,...Mercury's or OMC's motors? Which do you feel would get best fuel economy for a two stroke motor of this size? I am open to Mercury/Mariner,...but I prefer OMC motors. I am looking at
1985 or newer motors that I can find for around $1,200.00.

My preference are the Mercs.

OMC is now out of business, although BRP I believe have taken up the torch.

I don't think you'll really go terribly wrong with either make. What I'd probably do is concentrate on getting one that's in the best shape possible regardless of what colour it is.
