I just looked up the top songs according to Cash Box for this week back in 1988.
1-Poison-Every rose has it's thorn
2-Bobby Brown-My prerogative
3-Phil Collins-Two hearts
4-Boy Meets Girl-Waiting for a star to fall
5-Taylor Dane-Don't rush me
So how young were you when you started dating? Did you guys go to school together or was it because she lived close to you?
I always find it fascinating when people have been together for a long time and are "actually" happy how they got together.
My love of 21 years this year lived right behind me and we played together as kids...and I would say it is laughter that keeps us together.........and boy I give him lots of material to make me laugh
Well, I was playing dances, in various clubs. I had been for about 30 years. (I started playing when I was 5). She came up the the band stand and made a request. I took the request.
I went back a while later, and met her folks, had a drink, and I ask her out.
(I was almost divorced from wife #2 at that time).
I WAS NOT looking for a wife at all !!!!! About 3 months later, we moved in together. She had just turned 19, and I was 31.
We married, have 2 great boyz, our home is paid for, and I want to retire !!!!
Great gal. Couldn't have had a better choice, if I had been looking !!!!!
When one thinks that life stinks and why fall in love as it can sometimes suck, enough to want a divorce.....along comes someone that makes you feel like love isn't an effort ...cares for you for exactly who you are and doesn't make you feel as if you have to change who you are.....they compliment you as appose to hinder you.
Aren't we a lucky bunch to have found people in our lives that make us happy to be in love....Thanks for your story and happy retirement
