Than he got out his little air saw and went to town on the inside skin .

IMAG0084.jpg

That will all be glassed back up after the wood is out . I ordered up 5 Gallons of seacast to pour in the transom when ready . Its 3 time stronger than wood , Its lighter and it floats . I also have it in my Trimate II and it is fantastic and ill never have to replace the transom again .It will never rot. And will have all the strength I need . I know ill need more than 5 gallons but I want to start and get a idea of how much ill really need than order more . Here is a link to the seacast http://www.transomrepair.net/index.php . Its expensive but well worth it .....

The boat has made it into the garage now and I have the fan running in it to move the air around and help dry up the wood that I still left in the transom so it shrinks up and will come out easier . At day break im going to push her back out in the drive way and let the sun heat the hull up while the fan is still running to help in the drying process while im getting the hull ready for the floor and stringer to go back in ...

Got the rest of the transom out . Wasnt really all that bad only took the 2 days . It was more solid toward the bottom because the water was laying in there and slowing down the rot .

Last of the transom

Here are the seat boxes all built and the battery box . Feels really good to be this far . The boxes are screwed together with good exterior screws and glued with PL Premuim ... The factory had only Stapled them together than glassed them to the hull and they lasted 30 yrs . So hopefully these last just as long ...

Came home from work tonight to see that my dad had been here working on repairing a few more holes . The water pick up for the speedo had been in 2 different spots so he ground those down and glassed them up .
