This year (2014) the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) have made a distinct change in their rules for fiberglass boats. This weekend, at the center of wood boats in North America (Clayton NY), a fiberglass Chris Craft XK19 has just won "best of show" at this, most prestigious antique boat...
The little snap chain for my ignition key "floatie" kept easily unsnapping...
So, first I stole a new chain from the nail clippers in my wife's car glovebox. (replaced it with the defective chain so she'll never know).
Then after re-installing the floatie and ignition key I used a length...
We dropped the boat in the water Friday to attend our first ever Poker Run. This was with the ACBS Toronto and 11 boats (of 16 entered) showed up for the 10AM start.
I had never done one of these before so, I hung back at the start.... but, I didn't like bouncing through the wakes of all...
This is very cool....
My Greavette is featured in the summer 2014 edition of Classic boat magazine. This is the ACBS Toronto members magazine. It is also distributed at the annual Gravenhurst boat show. (This year being held on July 5th)
This works well as it will be the first time my boat has...
Y' know I love the "woodies"....
I have my 18' Greavette for fun & fast family cruising....
And now I have the 16' Donzi Ski Sporter project and I love the "offshore" performance style runabouts....
So what do I find? Actual plans to build the WynMill II woodie boat that gave it's DNA to...

The pic is from a distance and I'm wearing a maroon coloured shirt as my boat kicks up some spray.... nice rocky shoreline in the background...
I attended a fantastic workshop yesterday with the boat club. First topic... varnish, paint and prep. by the Epifanes distributor for Canada. Very informative and got a "bible" on the subject free!
Afternoon topic... epoxies. Mostly discussed WEST SYSTEM , glassing techniques, tools...
Okay, that's ANNAPOLIS, Md.... sorry for the (sp) typo.

Have fun , be SAFE and be good...
If you can't be good, be careful... if you can't be careful, Sean is a nice name for a September-October baby! :):rof:
Which do you think is better... and why?
I'm starting from scratch on the new project and have chosen an Alpha. Bravo is considerably heavier and a Bravo 3 heavier again. The Volvos are just too pricey for me to get the new stuff (with the common transom cut out.
So, pros vs. cons please.
Wanted:
Donor boat with 4.3l v6 and alpha drive. Does not have to run but, a good engine block manditory. looking around $1,500 mark.... and not too far from Toronto.
Way back in 1965 Shepherd boats of Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario started to build 16' Donzi Ski Sporter boats under license from a fledgeling company called Donzi Marine of Miami , Florida.
I'm looking for any information (or clues that might lead to information) on any of this operation...
