You might be able to pull a skier around, but I would think the skier would have to start on two skis to get up. And, I would guess the wake would be large to the point of it being pretty hard to do much, other than get towed around a bit.
Wakeboarding would probably be better I would think...
I would suggest getting a set of combo skis first.
If you get a good set, they will usually come with one ski that is also a slalom ski.
Wider skis are usually easier for beginners to learn on as they're easier to get up on.
That's just my .02 cents. :)

Very cool! :thumb:
Ray, did you watch Land & Sea this past weekend? They did a special on Newfoundland Wood Boat Builders. It was a really neat episode. :)

That brings back lots of memories. :)
Our family has the exact same aluminum boat.
I grew up driving one with a 1950's 5.5 'Rude. I painted the sides dark blue to match the motor.
My uncle still has the boat itself and I still have the motor. :thumb:

Thanks for the update.
Let us know how you end up making out. :)
You need to show us some beautiful Newfoundland boating pics when you get rolling! :thumb:

Hi margarita,
Welcome aboard, nice to have you with us.
Do you have any more info on your motor?
Are there any tags or serial numbers etc? Using those you can probably search and get more info.
A lot of the Volvo's in the past have actually been Ford blocks.
