    Transom repair

Hey CS, nice to see you back working on it, thanks for posting your pics. :thumb: Did your boat originally have any transom knees? I know a lot of the guys who redo performance boats often will build in, or build up the transom knees if it has any. That might be something you might want to...

    Front Page Picture Nominations!

Great pics guys! Keep 'em coming! Will, the way the flake is done on your boat, reminds me a lot of a friends boat that they had back in the late 70's early 80's. Their 70's Trimate also had a red and black flake fade similar to yours as well. What theirs did, was inside the boat, the flake...

Awesome! I'm hoping once the ice is out at the cottage, perhaps I'll do up a video myself of a ride on our lake. You guys have inspired me to give the movie making deal a try! :) -Chris

That sounds like a classic symptom of a carb that needs cleaning. As Will said, if the gas is old, or if it was sat in the motor it will go bad and foul the carb. -Chris

1971 evinrude 9.5 bad miss and won't transition

Tubs work well actually. Better than muffs as the motor is actually in water. Whenever I get stumped, I always go back to basics. You said it has good compression, so it's most likely either fuel, air or ignition related. So what I would do is pick one and eliminate each as you go...

1971 evinrude 9.5 bad miss and won't transition

That's a great site, your set up isn't exactly like that one though is it? I wish I had a manual for the later models so I could help more. Is there a way you can observe when each plug fires and where the pistons are at the time? The guy on that website shows you how to do it. I've done...

1971 evinrude 9.5 bad miss and won't transition

I know I've referred to this site quite a few times for help. It's obviously a slightly different set up than yours is, but it has lots of good info. http://www.outboard-boat-motor-repair.com/johnson/Evinrude%20Johnson%205.5%20HP%201954-1964%20Ignition%20System%20Tune-up.htm Have you tried...
