Happy Thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving to you sean and all here. we went to my parents house and left with out my kids. so we are kid free for two days but I miss them already.

Our (Canadian) Thanksgiving was back in October...
Yes, ditching the kids is fun but it's nice to get them back (for a while).

My daughter is away at the Ontario High School provincial Basketball championship tournament this week and my son is immersed in PS3 so it's been quiet around here.

I get to put the snow tires on all the cars...lucky me.

We're smart here, we spread our turkey holidays out a little, lol.

I was in ND yesterday so I got some truck stop turkey anyway, lol.

Sean my snow tires have been on for a month already...

Here was my view this morning, -21 here this morning.

The old girl was a little frosty when I got home today, +23 and A/C on all day Wednesday in Iowa, crazy how much of a difference 1200 miles can make in temp

LOL, yup it rides pretty good, it's a 07 that I've had since new, it's almost got 1 million km on it and I ordered a new Freightliner Coronado last Sat, been a pretty good truck, just small stuff over the years, in 5 years I only needed one tow truck, not too bad. around Christmas I should have the new one.

So why the switch to Freightliner ?

The local Volvo dealer has been horrible to deal with, when the truck was only two years old I had a transmission problem develop, they blamed it on cold weather and I picked it up many times thinking it was fixed, a day or two later same problem, I dealt with this for about 10 months, I would be driving along and it would quit, sometimes for 5 mins sometimes for 2 hours, from all the visits they charged around $5000 for this problem that they never fixed, one day it happened to quit as I was driving right by Volvo in Winnipeg and I coasted into their yard, they found the problem and had it covered under warranty even though my truck was out of warranty, been getting service there ever since, I know the guys at Freightliner and it would be easier than dealing with a place 8 hours away, I like the Volvo I just don't like our dealer here.

The new one looks like it will be nice, got it with leather this time so when the kids spill something it's a easy clean up, my 4 year old rides with me all the time, he doesn't want to see the Volvo go, lol.

Ah, I understand. Servce is everything.
The Freightliner should be easier on tires also....

little note...buying your first boat in the late fall does wonders for the purchase price, but is absolute murder on your psyche. My wife and I are in a full on depression, and will remain here for the next 4-5 months  :)

we've decided to buy ourselves and the kids at least one fun thing for the boat each month to at least keep the smiles on our faces :)

happy holidays folks!
