I wait all winter long. Finally get the boat cleaned up and ready to go. It stays rainy, and the temperature has stayed in the 60's the past week or two. We knew the water would be too cold to swim, tube, ski. SO, we are home. :brickwall:

Can't go tomorrow, as the wife works for herself, and that stops the trip tomorrow, to the lake. :pissed:

The week-end of the 5th, she works on Saturday, and I acquired tickets to the NASCAR race, along with pit passes, and preferred parking. SO, that week-end is out. :shakehead:

HOPEFULLY the next week-end !!!!!

You're lucky John. :thumb:

We've had really crappy weather around here as well. Rain, rain and more rain - plus it's been cold as well.

We're you effected by the flooding at all? Hope not!

Our weather has been crappy as well except for the long weekend, we lucked out there, lucked out with the flooding too, sure a lot of water everywhere else, drove through Minot, ND today and it is real bad

The highway I usually take was under water and I had to detour around.

and here's sioux city, IA, will be driving through there tomorrow

Man that's heartbreaking.

Very sad.

I'm glad to hear you're in good shape though other than a bit of crappy weather.

The bugs at our cottage are pretty bad this year, I guess with all the rain that's made helped them along in the breeding department. Hopefully the warmer and drier weather will help clear them out a bit. I also saw a bunch of dragon flies popping up, so that should help clear them out as well. :thumb:

Yeah Chris it's very sad, I was talking to mh2508 from the check forum the other day, he lives near Sioux city and has a buddy that lives near the river by a golf course, they estimate 1200 high dollar homes will be going under and it will be months before the water will go down, he spent the last few days helping him remove all the furniture, appliances, doors, carpet, furnaces, water heaters and A/C units, basically anything they could unbolt came out, the level is raising 10,000 CFS a day and no telling when it will stop, can't image how disheartening that would be.

I am at the lake freezing right now, +2 tonight and a high of +10 for tomorrow, sucks but I'll take that over flooding any day.

We had a lot of bugs here too but it's too cold for them now, even seen a few snow flakes tonight.

What kind of summer did you have? There's been massive amounts of rain and draughts this year in the US, not to mention an east coast earthquake. How did you fare in SK you guys? The only thing that hasn't hit us is some form of bloody pestilence like maybe, locusts next? The mosquitos are eating us alive now.:yell:

Our summet was the hottest summer on record since 1995 here in Michigan . The whole month of july it stayed at or just below 100 degs . Couldnt really do much durning the week but stay inside in the A/C . Than the weekend stayed at the lake the water was in the high 80's in northern michigan which usually is only about 70-75 on my lake during the summer
