SN,

I sent you an email.

There is a SeaNymph category in the photo-gallery where you can upload your pics to. Once uploaded, you can just paste the photo-gallery code into your post on the forums and you're good to go. :)

I like old fishing boats.

Cool "sport-twin" too. :thumb:

Here's a brochure page from the '73 Rude brochure. :thumb:

Actually,Chris,...that's a 1970 Johnson 9.5 HP motor. Ya know,...that
boat is rated for a 25 HP motor, but I think if I wanted to upgrade for a little more power,a 15 horse motor would do quite well. I have in mind a newer
mid 1980's to early 1990's 15 HP Johnson short shaft motor should I decide
to upgrade in the power dept.

Yeah, but I don't have a 1970 JohnnyRude brochure to display. :D

So I thought a '73 Rude might do. :)

Evinrude and Johnson had motors that appeared quite identical for many
years,...at least on certain models such as mine and the pic of the motor in that '73 Evinrude brochure. As long as the motor is an OMC motor and runs,
I don't care if it wears the Evinrude or Johnson logos. But I do have my preferrences,Chris,...I lean towards Johnson, but will accept Evinrude, too.
"OMC and Sea Nymph all the way!" is what I say.

Just came off the www.iboats.com site after doing a little further
research on my boat,...it is a 1973 Sea Nymph 14R Big Water. Still
don't know why anyone would put a small 9.5 hp motor on a boat that is rated for a 25 hp motor! I still think an 18 hp Evinrude or Johnson motor would move that boat down the lake quite well,...don't need the full 25 hp.
Keeping my eye out on www.smalloutboards.com(AFA Marine) for a 1973
model 18 horse Johnny or 'Rude motor. Screw the EPA,...two strokes forever!

Update on this response; Make that a 1973 to 1979 25 HP Evinrude or
Johnson motor,...forget the 18 horse,...I have decided to go all the way
with a 25 horse motor since my rig is rated for 25 HP!

Kewl! You'll be flyin' man!

You'll have to get some action shots when the boating season gets underway. :)

The upgrade has yet to take place,...but it will happen before you know it!
I like Johnsons,... so I'll stick with them and keep my eyes open for a 25 HP
motor made between 1973 to 1979,maybe newer than that if the price is right!:thumb:

Cool. The 15's are decent motors too. :)

Some lakes ( White Rock Lake in Dallas and Lake Jennings in San Diego, There are oyhers) have a 10 hp max.:irked:

The lakes I go on here in Indiana are not horsepower restricted,...but some do have speed restrictions and/or electric trolling motor only. I
stay away from the 'electric motor only' lakes for one reason only,...I
don't use those motors. A boat such as mine, you don't need a trolling
motor,...there are things such as oars that you can use to row, which
I prefer,to move from one spot to another if I am only going to move a short distance. If I am going to the other end of the lake,I fire up the gas
motor. Trolling motors are for lazy people in boats like mine!

Welcome aboard Salty - nice to have you with us. :thumb:

I've got a 25 Merc on mine, but nothing bigger. Withe 25 it'll skoot to the low 30's. :)

There are some pretty wacky YouTube videos of guys putting big motors on tin boats.

Check out this thread where posted a few of the ones I found.
