Prop Question

I have a 1995 Four Winns Sundowner 245, this boat has ran great since I bought it. This off season in Ohio, I chose to purchase a new prop, bought the exact same prop that has been on the boat since I purchased it, same pitch and all. I installed the new prop, and today was the first day out on the water running it. The boat now seems to be slow out of hole and wide open throttle was at 6000 rpm, this has never been that high. The boat has always ran at about 4500 to 5000 rpm at wide open throttle. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

It almost sounds like it’s not the same pitch.

Is the diameter the same size as well?

Some places will have some spare props around you can test with. I’m not sure where you bought this one. You could also mark the prop just to make sure the hub isn’t slipping.
