My wife and I are actually thinking of moving to Central America and opening a fishing charter. I grew up on the east coast fishing marlin tournaments out of Jersey and Maryland. That is definitely my favorite kind of fishing, billfishing that is, but I really enjoy the relaxation involved in fishing for anything. I live in Chicago right now and work 14 hours a day, but cannot wait to move and never look back on the life I am currently leading.
We are looking into getting a boat that is above 35' but most likely less than 45', at least for our first boat. If it works out, who knows, I would love to run a luxurious overnight charter on a 65' Hatteras... I can dream, can't I?
My uncle had a 50' Post that we used to fish tournaments in, but I wish I payed more attention to the details... what kind of electronics, engines, etc. Hoping to learn all of that soon
