Hello All,
We just purchased an old Clyde 12' row boat. Not sure the year, checked the transom and could not find a HID. Will keep looking. The hull seems very solid. Wood is all there but at one point in the boat's life someone boogered paint over the original finish. Plan is to make it our winter's project and hopefully pull it out in the spring. I'd like to put an old Scott Atwater motor on it but not sure of the max hp the boat can take without a builder tag or HID. Will keep searching to find more info. I'll be taking pics thruout the resto so I'll keep you updated.

welcome, older jon or rowboats did not have a max hp rating on them or a hin. most were never planned on having a motor on this. You should be fine with a anything under 20 hp but it depends on the boat set up and how comfortable you are. good luck on finding info and if I see anything I will post it.
