Mercury 250 hp ECU

My hubby has a 2000 250 ProXB that needs a (used) fuel ECM. According to mercury that part number is 83004615T. We have not been able to find this part. My question is will any other units such as 83004613T be compatible? Is there a difference in the units between a 250 hp and a 250 hp PorXb? In decades past, my guy was an avid tournament fisherman in Wa State, now he is 75 yrs old and just wants to be back on the water fishing. Any help is greatly appreciated! Snickers

If you're still needing some guidance then it seems your needed part number of 83004615T would still be available from the factory which may takes a few extra day to get once actually ordered... What is your engine serial number? As that info may help tell a difference too.

While the other part number of 83004613T may work and run your engine, it just may have a different tune programmed into it which may not be 100% right for how your engine model may be set up to run it's best....It's typically best to try and stay with the OEM part number to try and avoid any other type of engine running damage...If the two part numbers don't cross references then it may not be the best idea to try.

Depending on what's wrong, some ECM's might be able to be repaired but with the costs of what seems to showing up under your part number listed, it may not be worth a repair from a service shop that does that type of work as it can get close to $ 500 - $ 600.00 depending on who you use.
