Hi, I am new to this forum, and am trying to get some information for a friend about his boat. If anybody out there can help me it would be greatly apreciated, as I am clueless about boats. His boat is a 1963 17' Great Laker built in Chetek, Wi. It is a spruce lapstrike with 75hp Evinrude outboard motor. It is in showroom condition, and the interior wood is mahogany. He is interested in selling it but has no idea of the value. Any input or information would be a great help. Thank you, Carla

Welcome to the forums Carla, thanks for joining up. :)

Typically, you can get a rough estimate of a boat's value using a site like NADA.

http://www.nada.com

The idea is that you add of the value of the hull, the motor & the trailer and that equals your approximate value.

With classic and antique boats it's a bit trickier as the value depends more on factors like condition and desirability. Some of the older collectable boats can be worth big money. I'm not familiar enough with the boat you mentioned to know the value of it though. Maybe one of the other members will chime in and know a bit more about that particular hull.

Below I've posted a link to a site that I visit on a regular basis has some classic wood boat listings.
