Hi poisoness,

I assume you have brought the issues you're having to the attention of the marina you bought it at? Assuming you have, what do they have to say?

I don't recall what kind of boat this is, but with smaller runabouts, it's not totally uncommon for a boat to take a bit to get on plane and then run better once it does. Usually the time it takes to get on plane relates to the size of boat and design of your hull coupled with the amount of power you have. Once on plane though, most hulls will typically run much more efficiently as you're not plowing through the water, you're instead running on top of the water so there is much more efficiency involved.

Perhaps you could give us more details on your boat and also on how it runs once on plane and then we can try to help more. :)

they cleaned carburators, but still does the same thing, the reason im complaning is it didnt do that when i first got boat 1 month ago. now ot takes forever to get on plane, its a 97 sundance boat w/90 hp tahatsu motor, today i told him i think motor is weak and he said he would look at it, didnt say no your wrong, just that he would check it out. if motor needs work dont you think he should fix it no charge since i only used 4 times and bought it a month ago.

Well the first thing I would do is check the compression.

That's the best and first place to start at with any trouble shooting. If the compression is good, then I would look towards a possible ignition issue or also at a fuel delivery issue.

As far as what they should do for you, I guess it depends on what was represented at the time of the sale.
