Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed into law Wednesday his controversial budget that raises the state sales tax and includes a 0.65 percent luxury tax on boats.
Yeah, it's the whole redistribution of wealth thing going on here in CT.
Gov Malloy has also decided to tax boat marina expenses like storage and maintenance. CT is now officially a welfare state and boaters are perceived to be wealthy. All this law will do is send boaters across the borders to buy and sell their boats (RI, NY, MA). That's right there's a tax proposed on the sale of your boat as well. Any other CT boaters here think this is a good idea?
