1988 Glassport 175 -- Need some info.

I don't know if '88 is old enough to belong in this section, but thought I would start here. mods if this needs to be moved, please do.

I recently purchased a relatively good condition 1988 Glassport 175 with a (supposedly) factory Mercury 115 2 cycle outboard on it. The boat runs pretty well, but doesn't idle perfect. It's in great shape for its age.

I am just trying to find some information on it. I have found that Glassport filed for bankruptc in 2002. But I was wondering if there are any old archives around somewhere where come basic specs and build information on these boats might be found. Or even in the rare case a member here with an owners manual. :)

I know how forums are about pictures, so I will be getting pictures up very soon!
Thanks for any help!

Welcome aboard, nice to have you with us. :)

Did you try cleaning the carb on your motor? That could fix up the rough idle condition. ;)

Glad to be here, I'm old hat when it comes to forums but pretty new around boats.

I haven't done anything to the motor as of yet. The P.O. said it had some "2 or 3 year old" gas in it. So my first order of business was draining the tank, and refilling with new (100%) gas. I will be running that some this weekend, and then will change plugs and keep running the new 100% gas (I figure a late 80's 2 stroke probably does better on 100% than ethanol mix - I know my carb'd '84 Toyota 4Runner Rock Crawler does) and see where that gets me. If it still won't idle, I'll start cleaning.

I have run some 100% gas in this thing, and cleaned the plugs, inspected wires, and hosed the carbs down pretty good with carb cleaner with motor running, to make sure it was cleaning everything... Its runs better. Not satisfactory yet, but a great improvement.

Turning more attention at this point to winterizing and getting it stored for the winter than working on motor though.
Any tips on that I would appreciate.
