This is one of my old motahs.

This one is a 1965 Mercury 110, 9.8 H.P.

Last year I discovered the internal fuel lines were in pretty bad shape and were leaking. The lines aren't your standard typical lines. These ones have brass crimped ends.

Thankfully after searching for almost a year, I finally found the fuel lines I needed to get her going again.

Here's a few shots of me installing the lines. :)

I have same lil eng. but, mine needs a new ignition or what ever that lil red box up top is that says thunderbolt on it.
Great eng, it ran it for years and would start on the first pull evey time even after sitting for a few weeks.
 
It sounds like you have a little later model.

My model is a points and magneto set up.

My '71 sounds like a similar set up to yours.

Currently I'm trying to scrounge parts to fix the lower unit on that one.

I'm looking for a bearing carrier. :yell:

Once I find that I'll have to track down some bearings and seals. :)
 
I blew the lower out once but I got lucky and found an old 7.5 in my friends shop with blown head and stole the lower off it.
 
If you give me the serial number I can check my book for the year if you like. :)
 
Have a look and see if it says Merc U.S. or Canada on it too. ;)

Sometimes there a bit different.
 
I ran it on my 13ft Orlando Clipper (S.S.TURTLE HAED)

The boat has be down for a while now. It needs a good amount of glass and wood work done to it before I can get it back on the water. I did however, pick up a 25hp Johnson for it a few months ago to motivate me to finish the project.
 
You should get yourself an old Tin boat.

They're always fun and fairly indestructable.

At worst they leak a little and if you hammer the leaky rivets once in a while, you're good to go.

I've picked up a few of them over the years, pretty cheap because they had leaks. I just drill out the really leaky rivets and then hammer in new ones.

It works like a charm! :)

Nice bow lift Chris!:surf: I love the feeling of those tin boats skimming the tops of the waves. 20mph or 80mph Im still having a blast no matter what Im driving!
83, thats too funny, the SS TURTLE HEAD hahaha Im gonna writ that one down!:lol:
 
Yolanda took some video of me blasting around in it.

I'll have to figure out how to make a little movie.

Maybe I'll try putz around this weekend.
