The other things that come to mind are reed valve issues or a blocked exhaust port. I gather there are no signs of a overheat condition? -Chris

A common cause is a lean condition. What does the cylinder and piston look like when you pull it apart? -Chris

Don, I did a bit of searching to find the old thread and member who had the modified 2100. It was fella who went under the board name "TCAT". Here is a link to the thread where we discovered he had a modified pad. http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4631 -Chris

Don, We had a member on the Check forums that bought a Pulsare that had a wider pad. When he bought it, he didn't know the pad had been widened. Eventually, he posted his top end numbers and a number of members questioned his honesty. Eventually he figured out that his pad had been widened...
