Hi everybody! I'm from Toronto, Canada. I just bought an old fishing boat from friend, old but well maintained, i like it. Only thing is that she never been registered. I want to do it, otherwise can't use it. I need more information. The original plate FIXED TO THE BOAT can only read as:

DOT114260 50 CUTTER INDUSTRIES
19109 1070 CALYPSO

THIS IS A 16.5' FISHING BOAT WOTH MERCURY 500 MOTOR.
Anyone has any ideas? thanks a lot.

I need the followings in order to register:
Gross weight ;
Loading Capacity ;
Maximum adults allowed;
Maximum horsepower allowed ;

It's looks like it's a Cutter by what you described.

They're still around and are affliated with Grew.

There should be a HIN stamped into the back of the hull, it should be right below the rub rail. The last two digits will be the year. The first three letters indicate the company.

What I would try is getting the HIN and then seeing if Grew/Cutter can help you out if you give them a call. :)

Thank you Chris. But I can't find any HIN. I find 60-E-8926 on the port side upper part of the boat. What is this?

I gather those are stickers that are on the front of the boat, on both sides?

If so, those are the registration numbers for the boat.

The HIN will be stamped into the transom of the boat, typically into the hull and it will be located just below the rub-rail. If your boat is pre-mid 70's then it might not have a HIN.

Thank you Chris. I was told the boat made in 1976. And registered. But my friend didn't keep anything document. And I 'm on the way to send my app to Boating Safety Canada to register it or transfer the ownership. Any advice, please?
