Well, I can truly say that I was under the weather both because of the Winter Chill but also having the flu:sick: and feeling like death warmed over......but nothing no nothing could keep me away from the Boat Show, it's a tradition you know! Like putting in the boat for the first time of the...
When does the next show come to Toronto...we haven't even closed the cottage yet, but I am already missing it and wanting Spring to come around and start the season all over again.
Welcome aboard wet-willy!
Well, I guess you can drum it up to "you win some...you loose some" but by looking at your boat pic, I would say you have a win win situation. Very nice and I am a big fan of the tower of power. What is the fastest you have had her run?
With the kind of weekend we...
Hello John, welcome aboard!
So 20 years...Wow. What would you say is your favorite thing about restoring boats and what was your most favorite boat to work on and why?
Welcome aboard Dave. You can never have enough experts on a site. Hopefully, this summer will bring us all a lot boating with many new experiences, photos and stories to tell.
Personally, I can't wait till next weekend when we finally open the cottage for another season.
Hello John,
I see them on our lake a lot and it looks like fun! and by your pictures it truely looks like fun. How many people can you comfortably get on your boat? and does it have some speed as well?
With Summer just around the corner....YEAH!!!! Hope the weather this summer is full of...
:welcome:Welcome aboard Woodenboatpa!
I know what you mean when you say that if you didn't need to eat or pay for things then you wouldn't charge...the love of doing something makes you feel guilty for charging. But the way I look at it is that if you feel guilty charging for the work, the...
I am a believer or "an oldie but a goodie" and the older boats have such great character and appeal. The old wooden boats are my absolute favorite and when ever we are at boat shows, that is what honestly keeps my attention. New motors are cool but the workmanship of the old boats always amaze me.
I find that even though the Yamaha's are attractive and look powerful, they just don't have the animalistic feel the Merc's do. I say to you.....quiet, and not so gas thursty:sssh:....or wild, fast and Mean:drool:. I myself go the latter.:surf:
You know what I am actually now waiting for? Summer and the antique boat show in Gravenhurst.
The new boats are sexy, but the old classics are mezzzzzmorizing :eyecrazy:
Thanks Chris for always posting the pics, it makes the winter go by and the waiting not so bad. I love the Mercs they look so mean and pooooowwwwerrrfullllll.
Can't wait till you post the pictures of the Merc engines....now that is amazing....the power and the beauty of those engines....nothing can compare.
If you do go to the show in Los Angeles take pictures so we can compare the boats and have fun.
Well, as usual....going to the Boat Show makes me feel two things.....I want summer and I want to go for a boat ride and waterskii.
Taking that many pictures and not having captured everything amazes me just how much work goes into these shows. It is neat to see the pictures through your eyes...
Welcome aboard Muskrat! Hope you had a great Holiday Season and Happy New Year!!
Are you counting down the days till you can start working on the boat? or have you already started so that when boating season is opened?
I guess I should ask where you are located....because you may be one of...
I hope for all our sakes we will get some pleasant SUNNY weather soon....or maybe we will end with an Indian Summer and it comes in August and lasts till late October.
Have fun fixing your boat and take some pictures so that we can all enjoy your progress.
Hello Roar and welcome aboard! Have you always been a boating enthusiast? and do you get a lot of time to do boating?
How has the weather been so far this summer for you? Have you had a lot of rain as we have had in Canada?
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your boats.
I am glad to say that I do know the most interesting man in the world.....
Now the question is is "What is the most interesting woman in the world about and what is she able to do?"
-he could go into the forest on the first long weekend no deet and cut down a tree
-put a 25 horsepower merc on aluminum boat in shallow waters and not dump motor
-barbaque hamburgers at dusk with no mosquito repelents
-drive for three hours and still have the energy to make fire and heat
-eat a...
